Nancy Salamone

Nancy Salamone, former financial services vice president, blends her Wall Street know-how and her personal story to turn her vision of empowering all victims worldwide into a reality. Her twenty years of corporate experience and her personal journey as a survivor of domestic violence gave her the necessary resources to create The Business of Me, which educates survivors of domestic violence on self-management, promotes identity and independence.

Ms. Salamone is an author, speaker, ally and advocate for all survivors of domestic violence regardless of race, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, education, and socioeconomic status. Her efforts extend to survivors of workplace violence, dating violence among teenagers, intimate partner violence, and gender based violence. She has documented her own struggles with domestic violence in her book “Nancy’s Story - A Victory Over Violence” which aims to inspire other people facing similar obstacles. Ms. Salamone endured a twenty-year marriage that included physical, emotional, sexual and economic abuse.

Ms. Salamone has lectured at New York University (NYU) and The Center for Financial Services Professionals in New York City. She has appeared on Good Morning America and in Forbes and Fortune magazine to share her expertise on domestic violence’s effect on the economy. She was most recently featured on HuffPost Live and MyNDTalk with Dr. Pamela Brewer.
