Patrick D. McMakin

Patrick D McMakin served as an enlisted man in the US Army during the Vietnam W(1969-70). As an artillery forward observer with the Ninth Infantry Division, his used unit frequently operated in the Plain of Reeds in a Long An Province and also took part in the historic first incursion into Cambodia. McMakin was born in South Florida and received his M.A. in Behavioral Science from the University of Guam. He has written The Flowering Plants of Thailand: A Field Guide and co-authored Buddhist Visions of Heaven and Hell in Thai Art. His first novel, Bamboo Dawn was written while residing in Bangkok, Thailand working as a Lecturer at Chulalongkorn University.
