Frank Radice

Frank Radice is the Managing Partner of Vida F.R. Company, and BadCatCo. Promotion, marketing, media, and production, consulting firms in New York, and London.

Radice serves as Expert-in-Residence at global marketing agency, Definition 6, where he advises leadership and clients on strategy and issues pertinent to the evolution and transformation of the broadcasting and cable industry.

Radice served as the Elite Jury Chairman for the 2015 Promax/BDA North America Awards, and is on the current board of Promax UK.

Radice was recently a consultant to Univision Communications in New York and Miami, where he worked with executives to help create the Univision Agency. Radice also assisted with the launch of El Rey Network, advised Univision Sports marketing, and consulted on the Univision Deportes promotional build up to the 2014 World Cup.

Frank is a Member of The Royal Television Society, Directors Guild of America (DGA), Writer/Member, Broadcast Music Incorporated (BMI), The Academy of Television Arts & Sciences (ATAS), The National Academy of Recording Arts & Sciences (NARAS), The Songwriter’s Hall of Fame (SHoF), the Promotion Executive and Broadcast Design organization, PROMAX/BDA, and sits on the Executive Advisory Boards of Digital Hollywood, the Broadway Walk of Stars, the Williamsburg International Film Festival, Worldwide Fan Clubs, and Number 7 Records.

Radice is the former President and Chief Marketing Officer of the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences (The Emmy Awards) in 2008 he championed the entry of on-air promotion as a category, honoring the genre with national Emmy Award recognition for the first time.

Radice was an Emmy nominee in 2008, for Best Promotional announcement for MSNBC's "Lock Up" series.

Frank received the TV Week Magazine/PROMAX “Campaign of Distinction Award” in 2007, he was inducted into the “PROMAX Hall of Fame” in 2004 and named a “Brand Builder of the Year” by Multichannel News and Broadcasting and Cable Magazine in 2003. Frank is also named in the Who’s Who in America, Entertainment, and Business.

Very early in the interactive marketing space, Frank oversaw the creation of a promotional on-line micro site for “Where in the World is Matt Lauer?” A successful “NBC Today Show” franchise, which was sold to Hyundai motors under a then unique sponsorship agreement. In addition, Frank was the principal motivator of a business development deal between NBC Universal and Proctor & Gamble that resulted in the launch of Petside.com a web site specializing in the 50 Billion dollar pet industry.

During his 17 years at NBC, Radice served as Executive Vice President of the NBC Agency, and a senior member of the NBC/Universal Marketing Council. He was responsible for the brand strategy, advertising, promotion and marketing of a wide variety of network programs, including all NBC News productions, “Saturday Night Live,” “Late Night with Conan O’Brien,” "Last Call with Carson Daly," and a number of NBC Entertainment specials and Universal Media Studios syndicated programs.

Frank also oversaw the branding, advertising and promotion of MSNBC on cable. In July of 1996, he was the executive in charge of marketing the launch of the new 24 hour news network.

In 2005 he oversaw the promotion of the transition between NBC News anchors, Tom Brokaw and Brian Williams, in 2006, the transition of longtime “Today” show host, Katie Couric, to Meredith Vieira, and in 2007, he oversaw the promotional launch of the 4th hour of "Today."

Radice also coordinated a deal to simulcast the “Today Show Summer Concert Series” on the Westwood One radio network, and created a 2 disc CD set based on the music series which was sold at retail.

A noted songwriter and composer, Frank co-created the award winning “America’s First Family” theme, and was Executive Producer of the Emmy nominated “Live For Today” theme, both for NBC’s Today show. In 2012 he co-wrote a theme for KMEX 34, the Los Angeles flagship station for Univision. In 2013 he co-wrote a theme for Univision's popular morning show, "Despierta America," and is a Daytime Emmy Nominee for 2006 and 2007 in the category of Original Song Composition.

In 2005, he was senior producer and music director of NBC’s “Concert for Hurricane Relief” which yielded more than 40 million dollars in aid for the victims of Katrina.

In addition to extensive experience in advertising, promotion, and music, Frank has a lengthy background in news production and journalism.

During his 16 years with ABC News, he was honored with two Alfred I. DuPont-Columbia University Journalism Awards, and two National News & Documentary Emmy Awards.

He was a producer for “ABC News, Nightline,” “ABC World News Tonight,” “Good Morning America,” “The Last Word with Phil Donahue and Greg Jackson,” and the senior producer of product development “ABC News Interactive.”

He covered the news around the world; from Capitol Hill and the White House, to the conflicts in the Middle East and Central America.

Frank was also the Executive producer of CNN Entertainment News from 1992-1994 and the creator and producer of “Live at 5” on WRC-TV, the NBC owned station in Washington, D.C., in 1995.

In 2006, Frank and his wife, Vida, co-wrote "Sam Katz on the Loose." A pop-up children’s book illustrated by Charles Fazzino and published by Random House. The book was also released as a set of children’s puzzles available exclusively at Barnes and Noble, nationwide.

Frank lives with his wife, Vida, and their cat, Sam, in New York and London.
