In May of 2014, McLester partnered with the nonprofit organization Help Hope Live to raise resources and awareness needed to receive a Live donor transplant as he was self-employed prior to his Medicare enrollment on dialysis February 7, 2003.

Help Hope Live is an established 503 C Corporation located in Radnor, PA with a perfect Charity Navigator score and top medical charity ranking in 2021.

McLester has hosted events for his campaign at notable venues such as House of Blues Dallas ,TX Hard rock café Dallas, Gas Monkey Live, Chick fil-a, Marty B's, Barefoot Bay & RV Marina, The New Granbury Live, & will host a Costume Party Event October 30th for Help Hope Live at Powder Creek Pavilion in Bonham, TX.

As of October 2021, McLester Is living dialysis free thanks to a Living donor kidney transplant. James received a non-related donor kidney December 9, 2018 at The Texas Transplant Institute from a longtime friend Laura Workman. James cites Laura as his Angel rescue. The next miracle came when James met his wife Kristen Jo McLester at The House of Blues Dallas, TX during a performance. James and Kristen began courting exclusively in September of 2016 and were married at Crossroads tabernacle by Pastor Bill Bishop on April 22, 2017. James is endeared to his beloved wife as “Angel Eyes”.

The process of restoration has continued through 2018 as McLester was recruited as a Drummer/Songwriter for The new Original Music project Roaring Truth. Roaring Truth are available worldwide on iTunes, Spotify, Rhapsody, Amazon, and Google Play including other outlets and will have CD's on hand at future concerts. Finally, McLester was hired by Allen Family Drug as a Nutraceutical Specialist on Jan. 22, 2020. He serves his community and is currently setting trends and record sales in his Network.
