His articles focus on transportation subjects, principally commercial aviation and railroads, and appeared in both trade and hobby-focused publications. He also is widely quoted and has made many broadcast appearances about commercial aviation matters. During his career in the commercial aviation/aerospace field, he has worked for two airlines, two aircraft manufacturers and has been engaged in consulting in this field since 1996.

George is also a widely-published photographer active in both the commercial aviation and railroad fields. His photos can be seen on popular photography-oriented websites including airliners.net, jetphotos.net, railpictures.net, flickr.com, and the Saatchiart.com website. His photography also appears on the photodecor.net website.

His photos have appeared in numerous publications, both periodicals and books, including Aviation Week and Space Technology and Airways. In addition, he also provided the photography and captions for Air Transport World magazine’s popular “Classic Airliners” calendar. His work has also appeared in numerous rail-oriented publications, including Trains, Railfan and Railroad, Railroads Illustrated, The Railroad Press, Passenger Train Journal, and Model Railroader.

He has made photography presentations at the annual Summerail show, local chapters of the National Railway Historical Society, other local Railfan organizations and Northwestern University's "Sandhouse Gang" railroad group. His work has been selected for display in the Center for Railroad Photography and Art’s Railroad Heritage gallery, a web portal for significant images of railroading. His photos have been exhibited at the MPLS Photo Center; Darkroom Gallery; The California State Railroad Museum; and the National Museum of Commercial Aviation.

George’s photos have been selected for awards in Aviation Week’s annual photography issue; Trains magazine’s annual photography contest; the Center for Railroad Photography and Art’s annual awards program; and Railfan & Railroad’s Center Spread Contest. In 2008, two of his photos were chosen for Trains magazine’s “100 Greatest Railroad Photos” special issue.
