David Misselbrook trained in medicine in London, then trained as a Family Physician. He had wide experience of leadership in service development, governance and medical education. He was involved in developing Family Physician training in South London. As well as medical training he holds an MA in Philosophy.
David was previously the Dean of the UK Royal Society of Medicine, and was involved with UK postgraduate educational planning and evaluation. He was a member of the Directors of Continuing Professional Development Committee of the Academy of Medical Royal Colleges, and centrally involved with the regulation and development of UK CPD.
David is past Course Director of the Diploma in the Philosophy of Medicine of the Society of Apothecaries of London (DPMSA) and still examines for the diploma. He was President of Faculty.
David has recently retired as Associate Professor of Family Medicine from RCSI Bahrain, where he was Convener of the Research Ethics Committee and Chair of the School of Medicine Academic Committee. He was RCSI representative on the National Health Regulatory Authority CPD committee of Bahrain.
David has given and chaired lectures and meetings, both in the UK, the Gulf, North America and internationally. He referees for a number of medical journals. He is remains Senior Ethics Advisor of the British Journal of General Practice, and sits on the curriculum development committees of two medical schools.
