I've been a cowboy, a soldier, salesman, chemist and an electroplating engineer. Now, however, I mostly clean up after horses. My wife and I used to raise them, but quit after the general market for riding horses declined steeply beginning in the late Nineties. We used to worry about people stealing our horses, but since the turn of the century we are more concerned about people dropping them off in our pastures. I still love the ones we have left and as long as I can afford to feed them they won't end up on some Frenchman's plate.

Next to cleaning up after horses, I like to write about them. There's usually at least some mention of a horse or two in my stories, sometimes they're prominently featured.

When I'm not cleaning the barn or writing, I'm formulating things like effective fly repellents and nutritional supplements for my equine buddies.
