Helen C. Ayers

After retiring from journalism and managing a community newspaper for 21 years due to bad health, I began writing books which I had wanted to do for a long time. With the help of my sons and the encouragement of many others I started writing. I have now published four books and have the fifth one ready. Each of the books have had a different interest, from moving from the mountains of eastern Kentucky to Indiana; the newly wed days and the help I received from about 60 families; to a health care book and how to prevent the same thing from happening to you that happened to me and almost killed me; and finally a murder book that had me involved as a reporter during my newspaper days. Now I have a cookbook of many of my and my friends' favorite dishes ready to go and am waiting to see if I can have someone locally endow the book. Also in the works and waiting for printing are about a dozen children's books which are waiting for an illustrator to step up to bat. But writing is my passion. I hope you enjoy reading some (or all) of my books.
