For decades, writing and travel have been Christopher McGarry’s passions.
The Canadian author, who was born and raised amongst the beautiful beaches and scenic landscapes of Prince Edward Island, studied journalism at Holland College in Charlottetown before setting out on a career that has included writing for weekly newspapers in PEI and Alberta, online magazines, and various other publications.
Since writing his debut novel, Unforeseen Fury, in 2011, Chris has penned over 30 books that include the Second American Civil War, Fifth Column, and Fortress series.
When he isn’t in front of a screen writing a news article or a scene from his latest novel, Chris can be found in the gym, doing fitness workouts at the local pool, quietly painting, or travelling to different areas of Canada and the world.
The author spent a year and a half working as an English teacher in the People’s Republic of China, explored the tropical beaches of the Dominican Republic, and has visited his ancestral homeland, Ireland.
The author’s Canadian travels have taken him from the rocky shores of Newfoundland and Labrador to the high desert country of British Columbia’s interior. These journeys around his home nation and the globe have served as inspiration for many of his stories.
