D. A. DeCuzzi

D. A. DeCuzzi is a part-time author who enjoys telling a good ghost story. He has been writing short stories since high school; during this time, he has won an Honorable Mention Award for his short story, “The Haunted House.” He has been recognized for his writing during the same four years, including receiving a Student of the Month Award for being a literary magazine contributor with another short story (“Who’s There?!”), and he continues writing around his busy schedule at his real-world job. He is currently working on his first novel and other short stories; while some of his work has appeared in four other anthologies—Possessions, Possessions 2, DNA 4N6: Criminal Short Stories and Dark Holidays; the latter was a project where he appeared as editor-in-chief and contributor. He currently resides in Gainesville, Georgia.

His tale, "A Call From Beyond," was inspired by a dark time in his life where three members of his family passed away due to health issues, with each of them passing within six months; it appears in the POSSESSIONS anthology, edited by Paul Loh. This story was meant to be a tribute to his family, serving as an opportunity to say the final goodbye to them, when there was a missed chance for each one that was beyond anyone's control. He is currently working on his first novel and other short stories.

DARK HOLIDAYS, which has been published and released on November 24, 2014, a day that will hold special meaning since this was his mother's 79th birthday; he feels she would be proud of this project, hoping there will be more titles to come in the near future. This is another anthology he personally put together, ready for the holidays. He has two stories--"Skeleton Boy" and "The Haunted House"--and a Halloween poem appearing in this collection, along with other talented authors.

In 2015, another short story--"Mirror Image"--has been published in POSSESSIONS 2, edited by Paul Loh. He is currently working on more material and will have his first novel completed soon, which he has been working on and off for a few years. There is more to come from this up and coming author; a novel is in the works.

In 2017, two short stories--"The Hidden Portrait" and "Maryann"--will appear in DNA 4N6: Criminal Short Stories, edited by David R. Burton; the book became available on August 20th, 2017. This is a different style that Mr. DeCuzzi isn't accustomed, but believes it is a good challenge for any author to branch out and grow as a writer, along with other talent authors as well. He only hopes that the audience will be impressed with the final product.

For 2018, Mr. DeCuzzi is also working on a collection of his own short stories, entitled WHEN OLD MEMORIES RETURN, which he hopes to be released sometime early next year; it is a three volume collection similar to Clive Barker's Books of Blood, with the first volume almost completed, and should be available close to this time. Also, he is working on his first novel--The Wicked Unknown (tentatively titled)--and hopes to be finished with it by the end of the year.
