Al Ferber

Al Ferber, born 1946 Philadelphia, PA. Norman Newberg English teacher at Bucks County Community College 1965 taught a very reluctant student the discipline of writing with precision, clarity, and economy. After BCCC he graduated Temple University. He has worked as a teacher, Executive Director for CETA Jobs & Training Program, Director Veterans Outreach Center, Bartender. He attended Villanova University received Certification in Drug & Alcohol Addiction Counseling. He then worked as a Drug & Alcohol Addictions Therapist for 15 years. Spent most of those years dealing with clients involved with the Criminal Justice System and clients with Co-occurring Disorders; the last 5 1/2 years he was a contract Therapist with the Bucks County Correctional Facility in Doylestown, PA. Retired February 2014. Over the years his poetry has appeared in over 50 magazines, periodicals, and newspapers. He has published 3 chapbooks, 22 volumes of poetry, and two novels. He continues to harvest poems from beyond the conscious mind. He has said he will continue writing as long as the words keep showing up on the page. His newest collection, "Illuminant Alley" will be published late August of this year. He thinks his best to date. Look for it, here, on Amazon in paperback and Kindle format. He and Cathi, his wife of 32 years live in Ocean City, NJ.
