Chris Buckingham

Dr. Christopher Buckingham is a Senior Teaching Fellow with University of Southampton (Winchester School of Art). His specialist areas are crowdfunding, serious games, fashion and marketing. He is also the founder of the specialist publisher and consultancy, minivation, and the crowdfunding educational platform, Bright Peers.

He is an author, international speaker and teaches as a visiting lecturer at several UK universities.

Buckingham's interest in crowdfunding started in 2006 when he first discovered peer-to-peer consumer lending and soon after Kiva.org, a site dedicated to lending money to majority world entrepreneurs. This encouraged him to learn more and it didn't take long before he was helping his first clients create their own campaigns.

His books are all based on real cases, offering a reflection of best practice when building a sound crowdfunding strategy.
