Bob Makela

Bob Makela has been paid to write screenplays, magazine articles, sitcom scripts, internet shows, documentary treatments, blog posts, newspaper columns and stage banter for rock stars. He once was hired to write a book about a trip he took barhopping around the U.S. for 100 days in his VW bus. (A project that's still budding.) In 2006, he published his first book, "Poetry For People Who Don't Read Poetry." In 2012, he published "Barstool Poetry (The Early Years: 1992—2000)," a collection of barstool poems he'd collected while living in Southern California. In early 2017, he will be publishing "Blogabond: Confessions of a Wandering Listener," inspired by his wanderlust and the blogs he's created to document his journeys. A lifelong Angeleno, in late 2014 Mr. Makela moved from Austin to Brooklyn, where he launched Bobtimystic Books, a small independent press. He's also currently working on "Green Thumbs," a web series he's writing, producing and directing for a late 2017 premiere.
