Poet, comedian, writer, orator, and educator, Michael D. Dolce, began his study of the arts long before his formal education, supplementing his bachelor's degree from Eastern New Mexico University and private training with practice along the way, writing his first poem at the age of ten. He has written screenplays for 48 Hour Film Festivals, received the honor of best screenplay for "All the Right Tools," and published his poetry in various venues including a collected volume entitled "Zero the Clown and a Lovely Garden of Flowering Weeds", "Desire and Dust", "Slap & Tickle", Magic & Malarkey", and "69 Sonnets". Four of his plays have been staged, and Dolce has acted on stage and in film for over 36 years.
However, these accolades don't bring him the pride that wells up when he discusses his love of being an educator, a craft he has cultivated for over the past 22 years. When he isn't working in the arts, investing in children, or sharpening his zany and macabre wit, he delights champagne, cigars, and all things nerdy. He is hiking, scuba diving, loving music, and loving his wife.
