About the Author
N. B. Bjerke is a global citizen who has dedicated her professional, civic, and artistic endeavors to enriching the lives of children around the world. Born in Massachusetts, raised in Connecticut, and toted around New England in childhood, she began exploring the globe as a preteen, moving to Mexico, the West Indies, South America, and Asia before attending college, where she met her husband. Together they lived on the USA’s east and west coasts, Ohio, Hawaii, Japan and Okinawa.
Bjerke completed degrees in social science and education and holds teaching licenses in elementary and middle school. She taught school in Okinawa, Malaysia, and across the United States and has worked with numerous community outreach projects, youth-oriented programs, and as a court-appointed advocate for children.
Bjerke currently lives with her husband in Virginia, where she oversees a nationally accredited school for young children and writes children’s stories uniquely infused with folklore from various lands.
