Phil Canalin, originally from Alameda, CA, relocated to Benicia, CA, with Sue, his high-school sweetheart and wife of 44 years. His 5th Grade teacher and family library trips ignited his love for reading and writing which, despite his passion for playing sports, Phil always made time for. Phil Canalin is now a full-time author after a long career in the Alameda County Public Health Dept., most notably assigned to the renowned AC Health Care for the Homeless Program. Phil's motivation for his latest publication, TIME OUT!: As a first generation Filipino-American youth, growing up he dreamed of playing beyond high school basketball . . . alas, stuck at 5’9”! Phil comes from a fishing (sometimes even catching!) family. He is shifting his writing focus to YA, MG and Children’s fiction and his upcoming work will feature themes of youth friendship, family, personal growth, and overcoming barriers. Look for more of Phil’s work coming soon!
