Dwight York

Dwight York is the pen name of Joe Palombo. Dwight writes primarily, but not exclusively, gay fiction. He has traveled extensively throughout the United States and Europe. And he has had a variety of occupations: high school English teacher, pickax stonecutter, employment counselor, gay militant in New York City's GLF and GAA movements in the early 70s, business consultant, word-processor and publisher's researcher. This diverse background enriches his characters and storytelling.

His first novel, Bellringer, was written for his lover, who was able to read the final manuscript in 1998. Unfortunately, he died in 1999 from a brain tumor, not living to see the novel in print in 2000. Dwight killed the print version n 2016.

The Kindle version of this novel (2016) is the corrected version.

A Witty Romp with Butch and Dick (Kindle, 2016), Dwight's second novel, is ''a screwball comic novel about meeting places, especially GAA's Firehouse, and LGBT politics in 1971. GAA was the gay democratic organization in that period. Sexual and romantic relationships in the NYC LGBT society of that period abound in the novel. It is fictional." Dwight adds, "I created a naive first-person narrator and surrounded him with berserk secondary characters. I was aiming for a gay Tom Jones or Moll Flanders.''

The Cardinal Luigi Stories--Comedies. Dwight says, "The two main characters are based on a routine a friend and I did when we were out--except Luigi was an outrageously comic Mafia chieftain, and Guido was his sidekick hit man. Ten years later they still believe my friend is a hit man and I am a Mafia chieftain!"
