BIO - EILEEN OBSER

Eileen Obser has taught creative writing courses in New York for over 25 years, at colleges, libraries, and cultural centers, as well as at writing conferences. She especially loves working with adult and senior writers who are writing memoirs. She is a graduate of the MFA program in Creative Writing and Literature at Stony Brook University Southampton in New York. Her stories and personal essays, humor, and poetry have been published in numerous newspapers and magazines, including The Washington Post and The Philadelphia Inquirer Magazines, Newsday, The Boston Globe, The Village Voice, Ms. Magazine, Reminisce, The East Hampton Star, Proteus, and The Southampton Review literary magazines, among other publications and anthologies. Wordrunner eChapbook's tenth anniversary anthology, in April 2020, includes her work, as does Kaleidoscope Magazine in 2021.

Her memoir, Only You, set in her teenage years (the late 1950s) was published by Oak Tree Press in 2014 and was reissued, as a second edition, by Brown Posey Press, an imprint of Sunbury Press in April 2019. She lives on the east end of Long Island, in East Hampton, New York.
