Children’s storyteller, Ali Pfautz, has entertained thousands of kids with her original stories and songs. Known as The Story Lady, Ali enjoys traveling to schools, libraries, and bookstores encouraging children to read and use their imaginations. When she's not telling tales, Ali teaches preschool music and movement classes. In 2022, Ali trained to be a teaching artist for Greater Richmond Wolf Trap. She visits area schools helping teachers find ways to incorporate performing arts into their curriculums.
Ali's latest book, LET'S COUNT & MOVE!, is a numbers and movement story for children 2-6 years old. Children count silly creatures and then imitate their movements. The story is full of rhythmic, rhyming fun!
BUTTERFLIES KEEP FLYING is a story close to Ali's heart. She wrote it to honor Ella, her friend's daughter, who suffers from a rare, painful skin disease called Epidermolysis Bullosa, or EB. Children with EB are known as the "butterfly children" because their skin is as delicate as a butterfly's wing. A portion of profits from the book are donated to debra of America, a national nonprofit that supports families of EB children.
Other books by Ali Pfautz include a poetry resource book for teachers and parents called SMILES & WIGGLES: A YEAR OF IMAGINATIVE FUN and the picture book NO MORE SLOOPING, SARA SUE!.
