Peter Larner

I grew up in the East End of London, a place that taught me about people, their humour, their toughness, and the loyalties that hold them together. After more than forty years in the road haulage industry, I retired in 2013 and turned fully to writing. I’ve published nineteen novels, along with a children’s book every Christmas for the past three years. The fourth, Reindeer Rescue, will be available on Amazon for Christmas 2026.

I also work as a freelance journalist and write regularly for Commercial Motor magazine. But my main occupation is writing crime novels, and I’m currently putting the finishing touches to my next one, due for release on 15 October 2026. The Short Haul is a crime thriller set inside a family‑run haulage business. When Tommy Peacock, owner of Peacock Haulage in Essex, dies suddenly and suspiciously, his older brother Teddy, an East End hard man, released after serving twenty‑two years for murder, returns determined to uncover the truth. Teddy’s arrival throws the police investigation off balance and sets in motion a tense, uncompromising chase for revenge.
