Jim Manico is the founder of Manicode Security, where he provides expert training in secure software development, application security, cloud security, and AI security to organizations worldwide. He is a Java Champion, a long-time leader within the OWASP community, and co-leads several major OWASP projects, including the OWASP Application Security Verification Standard (ASVS), the AI Security Verification Standard (AISVS), and the OWASP Cheat Sheet Series.

With decades of experience in software development and security engineering, Jim has helped thousands of developers, architects, testers, and security professionals build more secure systems. His work focuses on practical, developer-focused security guidance covering secure coding, cloud-native security, identity and access management, cryptography, DevSecOps, and the security challenges introduced by artificial intelligence.

Jim is the author of Iron-Clad Java: Building Secure Web Applications (Oracle Press) and is widely recognized for his ability to translate complex security concepts into actionable engineering practices. In addition to his training and community leadership, he advises and invests in security-focused technology companies while continuing to advance industry standards that improve the security of modern software systems.
