Dan Bloom

Dan Bloom JD, LCSW is a psychotherapist in private practice in New York City. Dan had been an attorney in New York before he became a psychotherapist. Among his trainers in gestalt therapy were Laura Perls, Isadore From, Richard Kitzler, and Patrick Kelley.

Dan is a Fellow and past president of New York Institute for Gestalt Therapy, past president of the Association for the Advancement of Gestalt Therapy and a member and psychotherapy certificate holder of the European Association for the Advancement of Gestalt Therapy.

He is the former Editor-in-Chief of Studies in Gestalt Therapy: Dialogical Bridges, an associate editor of the Gestalt Review, book review editor of Quaderni di Gestalt and a member of the Scientific Board of the Gestalt Therapy Book Series published by FrancoAngeli. Dan has published articles and chapters and edited books on gestalt theory and practice. His own writing often focuses on contemporary gestalt therapy from phenomenological and existential perspectives.

Dan teaches and is adjunct faculty at many gestalt therapy institutes around the world. He independently trains and supervises gestalt therapists independently. Dan has presents workshops at many international conferences.
