James Wilson is currently Senior Researcher at Orkestra – Basque Institute of Competitiveness. He also teaches doctorate, graduate and executive masters courses at Deusto Business School (University of Deusto). Prior to moving to Orkestra in 2007, James was tenured lecturer in industrial and labour economics at Birmingham Business School (UK). He has around 15 years of experience of policy-oriented academic research, and his main research interests are in analysis of territorial competitiveness and socioeconomic development processes. In particular, he has strong expertise in: analysis of territorial strategy; governance processes; networks and clusters; cluster and innovation policies; policy evaluation and policy learning; the roles of academic research and universities in society more broadly.
