Ronan Joyce

Ronan Joyce was born in Connemara, in the West of Ireland, in 1967. He was educated at Garbally College, Ballinasloe, the Limerick School of Art and Design, and the Fitzwilliam Institute. His first job was as a painter and inker on Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, produced in Dublin by Fred Wolf Films. In 1991, he moved to Los Angeles, where he worked as a video image digitizer on Buzz Aldrin's Race Into Space, a space simulation strategy computer game for MS-DOS. In 1994, he travelled to Bangkok and got a job as an editor and page designer at The Nation. Since then, he has wandered the earth writing novels and working for an eclectic array of newspapers, including the Bangkok Post, the Hong Kong Standard, the Sunday World and Metro Herald. He started work on Week at the Nees' in 1999 and self-published it five years later. The sequel, Nee-Jerk Reaction, was self-published in 2017. Ronan self-published Hollywood Hoodlums in 2021 and is currently working on Nee-Deep in Deception, the third volume in the Marcus Nee series. He lives in Ireland with his wife, Jan.
