Mark L. Petersen is the President and CEO of Mentors International, a non-profit corporation with micro enterprise operations in the Philippines, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras and Peru. Mentors provides small loans, business training, and mentoring to lift individuals and families in these developing countries out of poverty. Prior to Mentors, Petersen worked for 27 years in higher education administration at Weber State University and Dixie State College. He served as the executive director of public relations and marketing for 17 years at Dixie and was then appointed by the president to open the new Eccles Fine Arts Center at the college as executive director of cultural Arts. Petersen has won numerous awards from the National Council for Marketing and Public Relations, has served as their president, and was honored by that council as national Communicator of the Year. Mark and his wife Becky are the parents of six children ages 32-21, and grandparents to seven.
