Gerry McCann

Aged 18, Gerry joined a Franciscan community, and dedicated himself to meditation and pastoral ministry. For the next 40 years, he was a monk on a mission.

Like Pope Francis, his role-model was St Francis of Assisi, who gave up material wealth, and committed to a life of love and service.

Gerry obtained a degree in Psychology and Philosophy. This enabled him to serve people at a deeper, practical and professional level.

For 9 years, he was the full-time editorial Director of a Christian magazine, with a national circulation. During this time, he experienced a profound religious transformation, and began his ministry as a charismatic preacher, teacher and healer.

For 7 years he served as a foreign missionary, in the shantytowns of Central America, during the turbulent times of the East-West political cauldron. This experience radically changed his understanding of religion.

Religion is more about works of mercy and compassion than just dogma and pulpits. That's why he took a Sabbatical, obtaining a Masters in Religious Studies at the CUA, Washington, D.C.

He was recalled to England to work as a University theology lecturer at Canterbury, the ancient centre of Christian faith. He was commissioned by the Open University to write a theology manual on the God question.

Three years later, his vocation took a very different path. He fell in love. After much soul-searching, he left to marry Sue in 1995.

Gerry then worked for 6 years in a thriving Day Centre for the homeless, at London Bridge. He's a qualified Life Coach, NLP practitioner and Hypnotherapist.

He is now dedicated to helping people on the internet with his writing.
