Sheila Seclearr is the author of a novel, A Tree on Turtle Island (2003) which was a COVR Award finalist for Visionary Fiction. She also wrote The Hopi Mother and has edited books including Priscilla Hoback’s upcoming A Galisteo Tale. As Communications consultant for UpSpring Associates, she has produced multi-media communications to assist business clients, including New Mexico’s #1 startup business in 2016, Meow Wolf Art Studio. She has produced websites for businesses and authors, including Judith Hennessey, Cernia Research, The Bateman Group, Diane Lynn, and Priscilla Hoback.
Seclearr was Associate Producer for the documentary Rumi Returning, to prepare for its PBS debut in 2007. She was also Associate Producer for the documentary 99% The Occupy Wall Street Collaborative Film (2013) and Co-Producer for Return to Rainy Mountain, a film by Jill Momaday Gray and Lisa Condon, slated for PBS with Vision Maker Media. As Creative Director at Derek Hart Entertainment in Marietta, Georgia, Sheila penned the adaptation of the DHE property, Secret of the Dragon’s Eye, a large budget action adventure film. She optioned the book, Acosta and adapted the film script of the story of Oscar Acosta, Hispanic MLB baseball coach for Chicago Cubs and New York Yankees.
Previously in Chicago with the national publicity firm of DeChant Hughes, Inc., Seclearr directed publicity campaigns with Hallmark Inc. and Crayola and for publishing clients HarperSanFrancisco, Harper Collins, Nightingale Conant and Crown Publishers. She received a Journalism degree from Loyola University in Chicago and did post-graduate studies at The Center for New TV and ScreenwritingU. Currently she manages the digital publishing company, Ravenkind Productions.
