Brenda Lyons is a fantasy wildlife artist, whose work shows the natural world through a shroud of fantasy and dreams. Through her watercolor and acrylic paintings, she explores the fantasy that hides in what already exists, and hopes to show that a world of imagination isn't limited to storybooks alone.
She is the author and illustrator of "Winged Fantasy: Draw and Paint Magical and Mythical Creatures" (2014, IMPACT Books) and the illustrator for "America's Favorite Birds: 40 Beautiful Birds to Color" (2016, Cornell Lab Publishing Group) . She also works with leather, creating winged jewelry and leather masks inspired by the creatures and plants of the wild world with a touch of the ethereal. Aside from art, she also is an archer and competes at a local level. She volunteers at Horizon Wings, a rehabilitation center for sick and injured birds of prey, where she helps with educational programs and caring for the birds.
