Eric N. Smith

Eric Smith has written two books and various articles on law enforcement and security issues. His most recent book, Workplace Security Essentials, is now available.

Eric was a police officer for more than 10 years and now works in security management. He created the Business Karate blog, combining his interest in security, business and self-defense with practical tips and posts on crime prevention, protection and leadership. He is one of the founding partners of Business Karate, LLC, a Colorado-based security consulting firm.

Eric is well known in the security industry and has been recognized as newsletter editor of the year and outstanding member of the year by the International Association of Healthcare Safety and Security (IAHSS). He was also selected to give a presentation at the ASIS 60th Annual Seminar.
