Phil Evaul

Phil grew up in the high ranges of the North Carolina Appalachians. His father was a pastor of several small mountain congregations. Having been raised in a Christian home, Phil came to know the Lord Jesus as his own Savior and Lord in his early teens. His mother and several of his siblings and their families still live in the mountains (lucky them!).

His writing of The Mountain's Silent Cry reflects his love and respect for the people of the area.

Change has come hard to the people of Appalachia. The book is a picture of a fictional family and community of the 1940's dealing with new conveniences, new technologies, and new values making their way up the valleys and ridges of the mountains.

Phil loves to explore back roads - getting lost on purpose - and photographing old barns and rustic settings.

His wife, Melinda, has authored a touching Christian Romance, Grow Old With Me.

Phil is the Pastor of Sale Creek Independent Presbyterian Church in Sale Creek, TN - the best church family anyone could hope for.
