I'm a stay at home wife, and mother of four grown children. I lead a pretty boring life, but I, myself am never bored. I have tons of hobbies, including, Polynesian dancing, rubber stamping, cooking, gardening, composting, card making, aerobics, weight lifting, reading, and of course, writing.
My three girls, years ago, hounded me to read a book series about vampires, and I balked. They persisted and I read the first book, entitled, Twilight. I was dragged to a midnight showing of New Moon, and again for Eclipse. That was the impetus for my writing. I was appalled that the heroine would walk away from a beaten and heartbroken boy. I had heard about fanfiction, and so decided to write something, hoping to fix that scene. Originally, it consisted of four chapters. I took it with me one day at the hospital, where I worked as a Clinical Nurse Manager. My nursing staff asked where the rest of it was. That story went on to become a work of thirty-three chapters, and due to the nagging of my reviewers, spawned two sequels.
Everything I learned about writing, I learned from fanfiction, and realized, I loved doing this. And so, at the urging of my youngest daughter, I proceeded to write a very personal story, which I never would have considered earlier. It is now a Kindle edition, soon to be paperback. I call it, The Lost Years.
