Available now on Amazon in paperback and Kindle formats: An UPDATED and EXPANDED Third Edition of "VILLAGE AT WAR: AN ACCOUNT OF CONFLICT IN VIETNAM."

Featuring a Special Foreword by His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama of Tibet. This feature elevates the book and challenges readers to heed his words about the alternatives to war.

Also contains forewords to previous editions by Cornell Professor George McT. Kahin, a leading Southeast Asia expert, and U.S. Senator Eugene J. McCarthy, who was a candidate for president in 1968.

Who would enjoy or benefit from reading this book? Our target audience is broad, starting with a younger generation that might be curious about the Vietnam War and how soldiers and civilians on both sides experienced it. Vietnam vets would surely want to read this book. Let's not forget to mention other potential readers: anyone interested in U.S. military activities (Army and Marines), how America's enemy operated at the grassroots level, village life in central Vietnam during the war years, the dramatic end of the war in 1975, and other aspects of this real-life saga. Of course, admirers of H.H. the Dalai Lama will want to read what he has to say about the war.

The book's Epilogue includes information gathered in the village in 2016 by a group of 15 students and a professor from Princeton University. They had studied the book before their brief visit to the village, where they met with local officials and some residents. The event was stage managed, but the very bright students were nevertheless able to gain some insights about conditions there.

Another feature appearing only in the Third Edition is an Afterword by the author. This opinion piece reveals the author's impressions and often strong feelings, some expressed poetically, about what he saw on the ground and makes some recommendations on how readers might draw their own "lessons of Vietnam."

"VILLAGE AT WAR" features 32 photos, many appearing publicly for the first time.
