John Herrmann

John Herrmann is a native of Oakland, CA. He has worked on magazines in New York and Washington D.C. However, his primary career, other than writing, is as professor of fiction writing and American literature at universities and colleges in the U.S. and abroad, in the Middle East, Western and Central Europe, and he served as the first director of the MFA program in creative writing at the University of Montana, Missoula. He lives in the mandatory writer's log house in the mountains of northwest Montana, some eight miles from a small community near the Canadian border.
