I began writing books as an interest in 2015, but somehow, the urge to write increased and I've just completed my 10th book in 2020. I'm pleased to say, the Annie Pepper books have become very popular and I hope you enjoy reading them as much as I enjoy writing them. I've listed the full range in chronological order further on, as I'm often asked at book signings, for the sequence of events, but right now, the latest one, The Pepper Girls-New Beginnings, should be out in January 2021.
The first Pepper Girls book was out in October 2016. The book started out to be just about Lexie, but it soon became clear that Nancy, Mary's daughter and Lexie's cousin, also figured prominently in the Pepper Sagas, so the book was called THE PEPPER GIRLS AT WAR (LEXIE & NANCY WIN WW2 THEIR OWN WAY). I do hope you enjoy reading it and consider it for your Christmas List this year 2020. Yes, sorry to remind you all but Christmas is on the horizon and, if you're anything like me, a new book is always welcome. In 2018,, The Peacetime Pepper Girls followed the girls adventures The second world war had ended and Nancy and Lexie were thrown back into their lives in Dundee. The war had changed everything and that included the lives of the girls. Hope you enjoy this one. Let me know.
I've been considering a follow up from The Green Years. Maisie and Chrissie are just beginning married life in Dundee with Chrissie's husband Rab still working in Keillers and Maisie's husband Kenny a squaddie in the British Army.
How will they all adjust to married life with its ups and downs tears and laughter? Who knows, but you can be sure they'll be living their lives to the full and loving every minute of it. However, other things got in the way, but I hope to get back to that one at some time in the future.
Have a great Christmas and New Year and happy reading.
One of my books, The Dark Heart of Roger Lomax, is a psychological thriller and worth a look. Not set in Dundee and not part of the Annie Pepper books, but this one will have you gripped till the end. check it out.
Hope you are all well and happily reading the books and looking forward to another year on planet earth (as they say on Chris Evans show). Bye for now.
Well Readers, we are getting a bit more up to day with things. In 2019 my latest book Annie Pepper Comes Home was published and is on Amazon now. Annie is now 60 years of age and along with husband Billy Dawson, she is living back in Ireland with their son, born out of wedlock when Annie was just 19 and alone in the workhouse in Belfast. But Dundee and her daughter by Alex Melville is pulling her back, when she receives a letter from Lexie begging her mother's help. So, Annie and Billy return to Dundee, but will they remain there when Lexie reveals her terrible secret, or is the pull of Ireland and her son, John, strong enough to make her return. Only Annie can decide.
Well, Christmas 2020 is almost upon us and I don't think there will be many who won't be glad to see the back of 2020! During lockdowns and other restrictions, I put my enforced isolation to good use and have added another Annie Pepper book to the lists. This will be available in January 2021 and it's called The Pepper Girls-New Beginnings. The year is now 1952, and Lexie and Nancy find that with Annie and Billy now living in Ireland, it's up to them alone, to handle the twists and turns of fate that life throws at them. Like most of us, we think we're quite grown up till mum and dad are no longer around to lean on, and we realise that it's up to ourselves to deal with life without them.
I'm now in my final year at Dundee University doing my part-time MA in English. With all the confusion and upsets due to Covid, it's not been the most enjoyable of experiences this year, but hopefully with a vaccine now coming on stream, hopefully, some sort of normal lectures and tutorials will be reinstated and for the second semester in January 21.
There are now 10 books for you to choose from, all listed on Amazon, but here is the sequence in case you want to start at the beginning, especially for the Annie Pepper books. 1-Annie Pepper, 2-Annie Melville, 3-Annie McPherson, 4-The Pepper Girls, 5-The Pepper Girls at War, 6-The Peacetime Pepper Girls, 7-Annie Pepper Comes Home and 8-The Pepper Girls-New Beginnings (due out in January 2021). Whew! There's also The Dark Heart of Roger Lomax and The Green Years, once you've read all of the Annie Pepper sagas.
Let's hope that 2021 brings back the joy of life again and may I wish you all Merry Christmas and a great New Year, full of health, wealth and happiness (if the fates allow that is!).
Well 2021 is here and we're still under the restrictions brought on by the Covid 19 Pandemic, however, during the lockdown I wrote the latest Pepper Girls novel, called The Pepper Girls - New Beginnings and it's now on Amazon Kindle and in paperback, so hope you'll enjoy reading it.
