Ashen Venema

Ashen Venema used to work as photo journalist, based in Munich. Assignments included travelling for the Goethe Institute and producing stills photography for German New Wave film-makers, among them Volker Schlondorff, Margarethe von Trotta and Wim Wenders.

Living in the UK since 1978, she trained with the Psychosynthesis Institute in London 1984-87, followed by additional therapy trainings and further studies, including, during a three year sabbatical, a film degree. She practises transpersonal psychotherapy.

In 2010 Ashen co-edited 'Heart of a Sufi, a Prism of Reflections' - reminiscences by students about their relationship with Fazal Inayat-Khan, a remarkable teacher.

Poems and articles by Ashen appeared in anthologies and magazines. She hopes to publish her short stories and poems.

'Course of Mirrors,' Ashen's first novel, was released in April 2017 via Troubador. A sequel has been completed and a third novel is in progress.
