Robert A. Tinney Sr. was born in Phoenix, Arizona and was raised through his teen years on a working cattle ranch in the White Mountains of Arizona. He lived and worked the life of a cowboy. He rode bareback and saddle broncs through junior high, high school and shortly there after. At a very young age he began writing short stories and was known for having a vivid imagination.
At the age of 20, he pursued his father's footsteps as a lawman in the State of Arizona. He has served as a city police officer, deputy sheriff and State highway patrolman. His 40 year police career has provided him with many experiences. He has served as patrol officer, detective, D.A.R.E. Officer/Coordinator, training coordinator, patrol sergeant, sergeant over a Hostage Negotiations Unit and captain, He served over Internal Affairs and in Federal Adjudications. He recently retired in 2023 and was a lieutenant over the Agency Support Bureau since 2016. He is a certified police general instructor and specialized in RADAR and LIDAR certification and taught Police Professionalism and Ethics.
His life experiences as well as being a father who has raised five children has prepared him to pursue his biggest dream of becoming an author and bringing his many stories to life.
Bob currently lives on his ranch outside the City of St. Johns, in the White Mountains of Arizona.
