Gail Stouffer

Gail Stouffer is the owner of KilnFrog and Heattreatnow, the primary online suppliers of kilns, ovens, and furnaces in the hobby craft and industrial heat-treating markets. Gail is the mother of an adult son, and lives in San Antonio, Texas.

She began her entrepreneurial journey as a second act, after a round of 9/11 layoffs from her very last corporate marketing job. Fueled by her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Long Island University and a joy for creating, teaching, and a passion to help others find their artistic voice. Gail opened a retail supply store, gift gallery, and teaching studio, selling glass, metalsmithing, and jewelry supplies. For years it was her devotion and obsession.

A lifelong learner, Gail conquered a Masters of Art Education degree from Texas Tech University, while flipping her little storefront into a national ecommerce business. In 2010 she launched KilnFrog the premier online destination for kilns and related items in North America. Twelve years later she launched Heattreatnow which thrives with industrial customers all over the world.

Throughout her career she has done it all; glass fusing, pottery, metalsmithing, printmaking, and crayons. Gail has taught technique and design to artists all over the world. She is kiln crazy, in fact she's obsessed! When she’s not working with her team on building the business, you can find Gail traveling or creating with a kiln based work in her own studio.

As an artist, her work encompasses many aspects of the female experience. Her work conveys the struggle women face in navigating the lines between their external persona and their inner character. Her artistic drive is to produce socially conscious works that inform, educate, and increase awareness of these contradictions. Working in a variety of materials and processes to convey her ideas. Kiln Formed Glass, Metal Work, and Photo-Exposure Printmaking engage a life-long fascination with physics and chemistry. Although each medium is inherently different, each one allows Gail to practice its age old processes and integrate them with the most modern, innovate techniques.
