Milly Born

Milly Born has a master’s degree in psychology. She started her working life with an international IT company, holding jobs in technical writing and communications.

In 1998, she and her husband, Jan, gave up their business careers and moved to the south of France to build and run a campsite. Five years later, they felt strongly drawn to Italy; in 2004, their life path took yet another turn when they moved to Umbria. There, amid forested hills and historic cities, Milly found not only her geographical destination, but also, after an intense struggle, her spiritual destination.

Milly and Jan now pastor a Christian community.

Milly loves to spend time with Jan and their daughter and, other than writing, enjoys taking long walks through the woods with their three dogs. Her favorite season in Umbria is autumn, when the heat of the Italian summer gives way to more invigorating temperatures, wisps of fog rise from the valleys in the morning, and golden sunlight intensifies the vibrant fall colors of the forests.
