Merelee Knott

Hi, I'm Merelee Knott, author of The Magic of Jhas-2 editions, Starduster Talga, Starduster Sunsi, Starduster Academy, and The Green Man--all sci fi. I wrote stories before starting school, and I wrote stories instead of paying attention in school. In junior high I submitted short stories to magazines. By high school I won prizes for stories and began a few novels. Life gave me varied experiences, swimming, canoeing, fun and work with horses, drawing, painting, camping, travel all over the US, Canada, Mexico and Europe, and meeting people in many cultures. I live in the Pacific Northwest with lots of beautiful trees. The Green Man, an alien, meets a tree, and parents find that babies love the little character, toddlers learn their colors from him, and older children like him for learning to read color words--and several more words. In Starduster, the teen girl heronine has a talking starship, Tracker, who often steals the show. Show? I've also acted in, directed, and written theatre shows. Dusty's best friend wants to be an actress. In the Jhas story, you may notice a lot of elements from my life--horses, swimming and diving, beaches, towns and cities, prairies, mountains, cliff-climbing and hiking. And snow. I also love to ski, but my favorite sport is gymnastics. Not watching--doing adult gymnastics. You need imaginary elements as well for sci fi. Like dragons.
