Geoffrey W. Sutton

Geoffrey W. Sutton is a psychologist, counselor, and author whose work bridges psychology, culture, and meaning‑making. Born in London and trained at the University of Missouri–Columbia, he spent decades as a clinician and professor, teaching research methods, statistics, and psychological assessment. He now serves as an Emeritus Professor of Psychology.

His writing spans a wide range of interests: the psychology of religion and spirituality, wellbeing and psychotherapy, survey design and statistics, and the fascinating differences between British and American language and slang. His upcoming book, SCOPES, introduces a six‑dimension model for understanding human behavior and flourishing.

Outside of writing and consulting, Geoffrey enjoys traveling and spending time with his grandchildren.
