Daniel J. van Ingen PsyD

Daniel J van Ingen, Psy.D. graduated from the University of St. Thomas (St. Paul, MN) in 1998. He received his master’s degree from Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota in 2002. He received his doctorate in counseling psychology at the University of St. Thomas Graduate School of Professional Psychology in 2007. Dr. van Ingen is a licensed clinical psychologist in private practice in southwest Florida. He has worked with a variety of problems including depression, anxiety, addiction, trauma, substance abuse, and relationship problems for all age spans. He has worked with youth in sports psychology, performance anxiety, and blocking. He has worked for many years as a youth sports coach in basketball, baseball, and soccer helping youth with goal setting, intrinsic motivation, and having fun for the love and joy of the game. His enthusiasm for life is contagious!

He has been dubbed the Sarasota Parenting Doctor for his work with families. Professionally, he has presented over 25 research papers at national and international conferences. He has published empirical research in the areas of anxiety, disabilities, and parenting. He is author of Anxiety Disorders Made Simple: Treatment Approaches to Overcome Fear and Build Resiliency, endorsed by psychiatrists, family practice physicians, social workers, psychologists, neuropsychologists, and professors alike. As a national speaker, he has trained thousands of clinicians in over 100 cities in 30 states on ways to prevent and solve the anxiety epidemic in youth.
