Jim P Wright

Jim Wright grew up in rural Southern Oregon and like so many, experienced the trauma of a dysfunctional and broken home. In his desire to escape the wounds, he numbed himself with the abuse of drugs and alcohol. After many years of fishing commercially out on the Pacific and digging deeper into moral and spiritual debt, he came to faith in Jesus Christ.

Following his new found freedom and forgiveness, Jim pursued a life of making disciples as he and his young family lived at an orphanage in Mexico for 2 years, built a Bible School on the Mosquito Coast in Honduras for one year, directed and taught a school of ministry for young men for 5 years, and eventually founded mtn. church, where he presently is making disciples as he teaches the Word of God on any given Sunday morning – but can also be found regularly teaching on a backpacking trip, fishing the lower Rogue river, rafting, mountaineering or rock climbing as well as ministering the gospel to unreached villages in Africa, India and Nepal.

He is happily married to his beautiful wife Maureen of 25 years, and lives in Jacksonville, Oregon. They have one son and two grandsons.
