Mark S. Caronna was born in Houston, Texas in 1961, the fourth of four children. During Mark's junior year at Sam Houston State University, he dropped out of college to join the Houston Police Department in December 1982. Mark served 28 years as a Houston Police Officer, (honorably retired), and detailed the first half of his career as a Christian police officer in his first book, Taking God on Patrol. Mark is an ordained minister, and a certified Crisis Chaplain, currently serving military veterans, law enforcement officers, and all first responders at a treatment facility outside of Bandera, Texas. During his law enforcement career, Mark received a Life Saving Award, a Chief's Commendation, Special Recognition Award from the Crisis Intervention Team, and a Life Giver Award from the Gulf Coast Regional Blood Center for his work organizing blood drives through the police department, as well as numerous letters of commendation from the citizens he served. Mark's second book, The Tactical Heart, is a detailed Biblical study of spiritual warfare and the armor of God. The book includes discussion questions and is designed to be used as either a personal, or small group study resource.
