Dr. Orna Naftali is Associate Professor and Abraham Miller Chair in Chinese Studies in the Department of Asian Studies at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. A China anthropologist, her research focuses on childhood and youth, schooling and education, gender and the family; nationalism, militarization and the nation-state; science, modernity and subjectivity in modern and contemporary China. She is the author of Children, Rights, and Modernity in China: Raising Self-Governing Citizens (Palgrave Macmillan, 2014), and Children in China (Polity Press, 2016).
