Lee Darling

Lee Darling was born in 1943 in Boston, MA. Her family moved to Southern California in 1947, settling in Whittier. She graduated from the University of Oregon (Eugene) and remained in Oregon for more than fifty years. After retiring from a computer programming career (IBM mainframes), she began writing poetry and personal essays.

Her essay “Queen of the Nile” was awarded second place for adult non-fiction in the 2009 Willamette Writers Kay Snow writing contest. Several other essays have been published in the Write On! column of The Eugene Register-Guard. A few of her poems have been included in collections.

In 2011, she published her first novel, “Just out of Reach” available on Amazon (paperback and Kindle versions).

In 2013, she moved to San Luis Obispo, California where she continues to write poetry and add sporadic entries to her blog, Scattered Bumps.
