Michael Donn

Dr Michael Donn is Director of the Centre for Building Performance Research (CBPR) and faculty member educating Building Science, Architecture and Interior Architecture students in the science and the art of Building Environmental Science in the School of Architecture at Victoria University of Wellington, New Zealand.

Graduated with Master of Science in Physics in 1977. Moved to the School of Architecture at Victoria University in that year as a Research Fellow in the Energy Research Group (ERG) collecting data on the use of energy in non-residential buildings. Moved to a permanent position in 1979 when employed to teach architectural aerodynamics in the School, designing and supervising the construction of a wind tunnel for teaching and research.

Currently focusing on Quality Assurance in the digital simulation of the performance of buildings. Daylight, Natural Ventilation, Passive Solar performance simulation for the purpose of understanding the quality of the environment that our built environment delivers for people. Without this focus on comfort and delight there is no point in the simulation.
