Norman Sieroka

Norman Sieroka publishes in the field of philosophy. He devotes himself to questions about time, nature, music, and mind as well as about the philosophy and history of physics, mathematics, and modern data science. He is particularly interested in the relationship and interplay of different forms of time (experienced time, physical time, ...) as well as in the methodological differences and similarities between various sciences.

Born in 1974 near Bremen, Norman Sieroka studied philosophy, physics and mathematics at the universities of Heidelberg and Cambridge. He received doctorate degrees in physics and philosophy and a "Habilitation" in philosophy at the ETH Zurich. He was Visiting Professor of Philosophy of Science at the University of Notre Dame (USA), Fellow at the Einstein Center Chronoi in Berlin, Guest Professor at the Singapore-ETH Centre, and Senior Teacher on board the Research Vessel and Icebreaker "Polarstern". He has been Professor of Theoretical Philosophy at the University of Bremen since 2019. He is also a lecturer in philosophy at ETH Zurich.
