Adrian Dobson

A chartered architect, writer and researcher, I am the current Director of Practice at the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA). My architectural practice experience has primarily been in the education and community sectors. I have also taught in higher education and carried out research in building information modelling (BIM).

As RIBA Director of Practice, much of my recent activity has been focussed on supporting the development and promotion of the new RIBA Plan of Work 2013, the key design and construction process map used throughout the UK construction industry and internationally.

My book "21 things you won't learn in architecture school" is a self-help guide for the budding and emerging architect, which draws lessons from psychology, sociology, marketing, economics and resource management, all of which are highly relevant to success in architecture.
