Andy Chambers serves as Senior Vice President-Associate Provost and Professor of Bible at Missouri Baptist University in St. Louis, where he has worked since 1997.
Chambers earned his Ph.D. in New Testament studies with a minor in homiletics. He earned an MDiv. in 1988, and a B.S. in mechanical engineering in 1984 at the Missouri University of Science and Technology. He has taught over 4,000 students during his teaching career at MBU in the areas of Old and New Testament History, Greek, systematic theology, homiletics, spiritual formation, church leadership and ministry courses. His research areas of interest are Acts studies, narrative and literary criticism of the Bible, early church history, and Christian higher education.
He has served on church staffs in a variety of roles, including senior pastor, associate pastor, student pastor, education pastor, and minister to college and graduate students.
He has served as a peer reviewer for the Higher Learning Comission of the North Central Association of Colleges and Universities since 2014.
Chambers is often called to speak and on a variety of topics, including Bible studies and exposition, ministry, cultural issues, and higher education.
He has been married to Diana Chambers for 32 years and has four children and two grandchildren.
