After years of writing articles and non-fiction, Michael turned to contemporary fiction writing in 2012.
His first book "Tight Spiral" is a romantic sports drama set in the USA & UK. This is a story of two people who fall in love despite the obstacles and wrongful assumptions in their path.
Michael decided to publish a new edition with over fifty additional pages, which will be available on October 28, 2016 and available now on pre-order. The original story is rated 4.27 out of 5 stars on Goodreads.
A must read for fans of American football, Tight Spiral is the new novel from Michael J. Gill and it’s a read with real momentum. Benefiting from an intriguing and well-structured plot, he delivers a slick and vivid sports-thriller. One underpinned by a tightly written narrative which brings the thrill of the game to life with boldly rendered backdrops and an abundance of testosterone fuelled action scenes that are sure to keep the pages turning. Evolving at a cracking pace, with a host of inspired characters and authentic dialogue, he avoids the karma of predictability as his protagonists find themselves drawn into the world behind the lens. A world less easy to define in black and white, where cleverly nuanced subplots bring a welcome degree of amoral complexity and raise the dramatic temperature. This allows Gill to reflect upon the paths thrust upon Harry and Amy over those they might have more willingly chosen, bringing their ever present angst to the fore, as their burgeoning romance is tenderly explored.
An inspired romantic sports thriller that is sure to have broad appeal, Tight Spiral is a fine debut novel from an author who deserves a place on your bookshelf. It is strongly recommended. Book Viral

This is an extremely short story but the author managed to add surprises, some action, tension and finally the happily ever after ending. The pairing was well done. I felt like everything moved at the right pace throughout. I would like to know what happens next. The story left me wanting more so i look forward to seeing if the author will give us more of Paul and Emma in another short story.
